本書為“全新版大學(xué)高階英語”（New Advanced College English）《綜合教程》的教師手冊(cè)。每單元由下列六部分組成：Part ITeaching GoalsPart IISuggested Teaching PlanPart IIILanguage FocusPart IVSupplementary ExercisesPart VKey to ExercisesPart VIText Translation參考教案（Suggested Teaching Plan）在關(guān)注學(xué)生英語語言基礎(chǔ)訓(xùn)練的同時(shí)，側(cè)重于學(xué)生綜合技能的培養(yǎng)。基礎(chǔ)教案需用四個(gè)課時(shí)，加上補(bǔ)充練習(xí)（Supplementary Exercises）則可擴(kuò)充到六個(gè)課時(shí)。課文的主題始終貫穿于整個(gè)教案內(nèi)容的安排之中。語言學(xué)習(xí)（Language Focus）包括課文難點(diǎn)注解以及各種新句型、新習(xí)語使用的范例。凡屬課文A精選出的重點(diǎn)操練詞及詞組（Words and Phrases to Drill），均按其在課文中出現(xiàn)的順序加注并配以例證。鑒于英語中一詞多義的基本屬性，在處理重點(diǎn)詞時(shí)，除著重闡明該詞出現(xiàn)在課文中的釋義及其用法外，還適當(dāng)提供了該詞的其他最常用的意義及用法。至于是否向?qū)W生介紹這些詞語在課文語義以外的意思和用法，可由教師靈活掌握。補(bǔ)充練習(xí)（Supplementary Exercises）進(jìn)一步提供與A、B課文主題相關(guān)的聽寫、翻譯、詞匯拓展、閱讀理解、改寫、圖片口頭表述等多種練習(xí)。
